# How to compete?

Just you can earn prizes in Chronoforge and our NFT collectibles may be tradable on marketplaces does ***not***** mean you should try to earn a living wage or expect to profit overall from playing a game**. Any game that claims '*everyone will earn*' by playing is a ponzi-scheme. Don't plan your life or finances around playing this game.

### Start Date

Season 1 will begin upon $CHRONO TGE - roughly one month after game launch 10th September 2025.

### Eligibility

To prevent against bots and exploitative work practices, our seasonal competition ladder (with $CHRONO prizes) are not open to Free to Play. 

For your characters to rank on the leader boards for Season 1 you need **one** of the following:

* Your account purchased the [Founder's Edition](https://chronoforge.gg/) - all your characters (both non-NFT and NFT) are eligible for the leader board! OR...
* Your character is already an [NFT adventurer](https://guide.chronoforge.gg/collectibles/adventurers). This character is eligible for the leader board! OR...
* You burnt a [Chronos Hoard](https://magiceden.io/collections/abstract/0x89a8d30ab57ba1ac147198caf452ab6e08ca66d9) (obtain by burning a [Totem NFT](https://guide.chronoforge.gg/collectibles/totems)) to your character in our web app \[instructions to follow closer to competition start]
