# $CHRONOS

{% hint style="info" %}
Be aware that the Bag Beast NFT mints are the final planned utility for $CHRONOS. $CHRONO is the primary utility token for the ChronoForge ecosystem.
{% endhint %}

**Chronos** is a newly discovered a rare element in our gaming world!

We have tokenised chronos crystals as the ERC-20 $CHRONOS on the Ethereum Mainnet, exclusively available to genesis adventurers.

### What was it used for?

$CHRONOS can be used to obtain game rewards including:

1. ~~Summoning Genesis Adventurers~~ (concluded)
2. ~~Purchasing Prospecting Deed NFTs~~ (concluded)
3. ~~Pets~~ (concluded)
4. Bag Beasts (final utility)

### How do I earn $Chronos?

$CHRONOS can no longer be earned.

### Sunsetting of Chronos (after Prospecting Deed mint)

* The prospecting deed mint was the final major utility event for $CHRONOS.
* Any further functions planned for $CHRONOS will instead now be performed by $CHRONO, such as payment for NFT fusing and class switching.
* Adventurer holders will receive the 5% allocation of $CHRONO shortly before game launch both kickstart circulation and the transition of utility tokens.

### Why is this necessary?

* We would have already delivered the major utility of $Chronos, which was fairly allocating the supply of generation 2 adventurers and prospecting deeds to loyal holders.
* Aspects of $CHRONOS’s design make it unsuitable as the primary utility token in our game economy long term - particularly its unlimited supply and passive yield.
